Nutrition and Diet for your new Luxpup Teacup Puppy.

#1: High Metabolism – Small Stomachs: Teacup puppies have very tiny stomachs and it is highly encourage that you feed them small meals throughout the day rather than the typical ‘breakfast/dinner’.   Feeding them a few times a day will ensure they have enough food to sustain themselves and ensure your baby is properly nourished.

#2: Manufacturer + Brand: Most manufacturers are now offering food specifically designed for proper puppy development. You’ll also find small breed kibble or food readily available. Luxpup recommends you speak with your Vet and determine the best quality food for your little baby. We also remind all our luxpup owners that selecting a diet for their baby is much like their own diet – you should readily be able to read and understand the main ingredients on any label and shy away from product with high fillers like corn, wheat, gluten and meat by products.

#3: Bite Size: Eating is serious business for a luxpup teacup puppy! Make sure you select the smallest kibble available to ensure your baby isn’t ‘working to eat!’.

Potty Training Your Luxpup Teacup Puppy

Be consistent. The key is to follow one regime and stick to that hoping your puppy sooner or later is potty trained. If you have problems with the training, enroll your teacup puppy in puppy training school. However, do not switch programs repeatedly. This will confuse your puppy (and you) about what you’re trying to achieve in the long run.

Before beginning with the training, you’ll have to decide if it’s potty training inside or outside you are interested in. Inside potty training can be reinforced with crates and paper training methods. Outside potty training can be reinforced with regular walks and practice that makes your pup understand it can pee only outdoors. Once you stick to a regimen, don’t change track.

Use the word ‘Outside’ and make sure your puppy understands its significance. When you say ‘Outside’ in a firm and excited tone, your puppy will correlate it with pee timing and soon, will be potty trained.

Designate a place indoors and outdoors and leave it covered with papers and crates.

Don’t give up. Be consistent. Consistency is really important for you to achieve sound results in the end. Keep saying and doing the same things over and again, and your puppy will soon understand what you want it to do.

Do not underestimate your puppy. With a few weeks of practice, they’ll successfully be potty trained and your house will be a poop-free place to live in!
